Bristol International Jazz and Blues Festival

Last weekend, Bristol’s Jazz enthusiasts came together to put on the regular big time New Orleans-inspired jazz festival. Over the years, the Bristol International Jazz and Blues Festival  has marked the city’s status as being one of the most dynamic and creative destinations in the UK.
So an excited Team Orchid decided to head down to the Colston Hall where we were treated to a day of jam-packed musical talent with the likes of the legendary Pee Wee Ellis, The Bruce / Ilett Big Band, Dr John and Carleen Anderson offering us some top-rate jazz. Swing Dance Bristol were also there showing off their ‘Lindyhop’ dance moves by the stage– making the whole venue feel like a scene from the 1930’s.
It is no surprise that Bristol is constantly voted one of the coolest places to live in the UK and holds the name of Europe’s Green Capital. The city comes alive in the summer with the many exciting festivals and events it has to offer. If you are looking at booking a group weekend in July 2015, be sure not to miss the Bristol Harbour Festival where you and your group can enjoy a couple of days of non-stop music, delicious foods, creative arts and magical fireworks.
