Activity Inspiration for 2016

With 2016 fast approaching we have put together some Activity Inspiration for 2016 based around events that are always big for the upcoming year and some dates here at Orchid HQ we love such as national Gin and Tonic day!
The weather obviously plays a big factor when organising a UK break so we have taken into account this as you don’t want to be outdoors October onwards!

When January arrives detox is always the word on everyone’s lips! Detoxing doesn’t have to be hard work; how about getting rid of those toxins and recharging with a body contouring detox wrap or indulging in an ultimate vitamin glow facial treatment at the spa.
February

Chocolate Shoe

February is the month of love; our favourite loves in the office are bubbly, chocolate and shoes which has inspired this activity of the month; the chocolate stiletto making workshop! Learn to make beautiful chocolate shoes with expert instruction to help you along the way. Your shoe will be packed up in a handbag-shaped gift box to take away as a souvenir unless of course it’s been consumed!
March
Vintage Signs
March brings Mother’s day, so we thought it would only be fitting to have an activity that Mothers would approve of; a vintage tea party and dance class! The vintage theme continues to be popular into 2016 so pick your prettiest dress and prepared to be spoilt for choice with all the sweet treat delights.
April
Punting
The last Sunday of March brings the Oxford – Cambridge boat race, enthused by this in the month of April we suggest taking to the water to test your skills! You can either add punting or rowing on the River Avon to any packages in Bath or perhaps add transfers from Bristol to enjoy a day in the gorgeous Georgian city.
May
Help from the guys!
Make the most of the start of summer and see some more of the city with a treasure hunt. It’s a brilliant combination of sightseeing, clue solving and photo challenges with some great pubs thrown in for good measure.

In honour of the fashionable ladies day at Ascot why not try your hand at a fascinator making workshop. For hen parties it’s something that could even be worn at the wedding to flawlessly compliment your outfit.
July
Bath Boat cruise
In July Bristol, one of our most popular destinations, celebrates the Harbour festival. It’s a free event which is full of fireworks, live music, dance and of course maritime madness such as the cardboard boat race! We recommend upgrading from a cardboard boat and try a 2 hour harbour cruise whilst the warm weather is still around!

Edinburgh fringe festival is in full swing throughout August. Visiting the Scottish capital at this time of year is full of fun and laughter. Following the comedy route if Edinburgh isn’t the right location for you and your group comedy nights are offered in most locations and provide an exciting start to your evening out.

In both Bristol and Bath you can celebrate this with a gin tasting and afternoon tea session where you will be taken through a discovery of the different types of gin and you will get to taste the variances.
